This page explains how we create content, what standards we hold ourselves to, and how we handle corrections.

Content creation process

Every guide on Hack My Study follows the same process:

  1. Topic selection. We identify a specific study skill problem that students and professionals commonly face. We don't chase trending keywords — we focus on persistent, practical challenges.

  2. Research phase. We review relevant cognitive science and educational psychology research. When we reference a study, we include the author names and year. We don't link to paywalled journals — we summarize findings in plain language.

  3. Method design. Each guide centres on one primary method or system. We structure it as a step-by-step process that a reader can implement the same day.

  4. Writing and review. Content is written in a direct, experienced voice. We aim for clarity over cleverness. Every guide includes:

    • A clear explanation of the method
    • A "Do this today" action checklist
    • A "Common mistakes" section based on real patterns we've observed
    • A mini FAQ addressing the most common follow-up questions
  5. Ongoing maintenance. Guides are reviewed and updated periodically. When we make substantive changes, we note it in the changelog.

Sourcing standards

  • We cite named studies (e.g., "Ebbinghaus, 1885" or "Dunlosky et al., 2013") rather than vague references to "studies show."
  • We distinguish between well-replicated findings and preliminary research.
  • We don't fabricate statistics, partnerships, endorsements, or institutional affiliations.
  • If a claim is our opinion or observation from practice, we say so.

What we don't do

  • No sponsored content. We don't accept paid posts or advertorials.
  • No affiliate links. Tool and resource recommendations are based on merit.
  • No exaggerated claims. We don't promise results we can't support.
  • No academic integrity violations. We never recommend services that write essays for students, take exams on someone's behalf, or otherwise undermine honest learning.

Corrections

If you find an error — factual, typographical, or otherwise — please let us know via the contact page. We take corrections seriously and will update the relevant content with a note in the changelog.

Advertising and monetisation

Hack My Study currently carries no advertising. If that changes in the future, we will clearly label all sponsored content and maintain a strict separation between editorial and commercial content.
